The Community Preventive Task Force has released the 2012 Annual Report to Congress and to Agencies Related to the Work of the Task Force. The report documents the Task Force's 2012 activities, provides background on the Task Force, its methods, findings, and recommendations; identifies evidence gaps and priorities for future work; and describes how states, local communities, and worksites have used Task Force recommendations.
The Task Force is an independent, Federally-appointed, unpaid panel of experts in prevention who help improve the health of all Americans by making evidence-based recommendations about community preventive programs, services, and policies that are effective in preventing disease, disability, and injury and promoting health. Task Force recommendations are compiled in the Guide to Community Preventive Services as a resource for decision makers in business, communities, health departments, health plans, health systems, non-governmental organizations, and at all levels of government.
